USA TOUR DAY FIVE – REFUGEES, FOOTBALL, PARTY NIGHT AND THE NBA

The focus on Saturday was the friendly against FC Buffalo. But before the action began on the pitch, a delegation representing FC St. Pauli, FC Buffalo and FC St. Pauli Buffalo supporters club visited the non-profit organisation Journey‘s End.

Journey's End is an organisation that helps refugees arriving in the United States. It delivers language tuition, runs a football programme and offers people support in their daily lives. The delegation, which included club president Oke Göttlich, supervisory board chair Sandra Schwedler, Ewald Lienen and Jan-Philipp Kalla, learned more about the work of this wonderful organisation and was given a tour of its premises. In the afternoon, the final game before the summer break kicked off at three o'clock local time. It ended in a deserved 2-0 win for the Boys in Brown in front of 1,500 spectators, including Kevin Lankford's aunt. The match report can be found here.

The evening was dominated by the final Supporters Night of the 2019 US tour at the Town Ballroom, which was attended by the supporters clubs making up the Nordamerikurve, among others. A great time was had by all.

Finally, a small delegation made up of Marvin Knoll, Robin Himmelmann, Brian Koglin, Daniel Buballa, Lennart Kessner and Hannes Bühler (FCSP-TV) made the journey to Toronto a day early to attend Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals in the world's premier basketball league, the NBA, between the Toronto Raptors and the Milwaukee Bucks.
