Reunion

Former St. Pauli player Kyoungrok Choi had a long wait for his first start following Karlsruhe's return to the second division. The midfielder was named in the starting lineup for their last two games, however, which ended in 3-3 draws against Bochum and Hannover. Not only that, he gave his side the lead at Bochum. Prepare to see the Korean again, then.

Unbeaten in six in the league

Alois Schwartz's team will be in relatively confident mood when they take to the Millerntor pitch on Saturday, given that they are unbeaten in six matches. There is a caveat to that, though. The last five games have all ended in draws. Their most recent three-point haul came in Round 6, when they beat Sandhausen by the only goal.

Spun off

Another member-run club was lost to the German game recently when KSC's annual general meeting voted by an 88 per cent majority to spin off the professional football section. "We've transferred our professional operations to a modern company that is fit for the future," said KSC president Ingo Wellenreuther afterwards. On the odd chance that you're interested in buying shares in the new KSC, you can do so early next year.

Narrow election victory

This year's vote to elect a new KSC president at the AGM on 11 October was a close-run thing. Ingo Wellenreuther clung on to his office, which he has held since 2010, by just 40 votes after seeing off the challenge of rival candidate Martin Müller.
