FC St. Pauli have let go another player just before the end of the transfer period. Kevin Lankford has joined third division outfit SV Wehen Wiesbaden on loan until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old attacking player moved to the Millerntor from FC Heidenheim in January 2019 and has made 22 senior appearances (one assist) for the club to date plus another seven for the Under-23s (three goals, four assists).
Reaction to the deal
Director of sport Andreas Bornemann: "We strengthened our squad during the winter transfer period, which will make it difficult for a number of players to get regular playing time. Kevin approached us with this in mind. We think this step makes sense. Kevin is still young and has better opportunities to improve by getting games in Wiesbaden."
Kevin Lankford: "I'm looking forward to the new challenge at Wehen Wiesbaden. I'd like to help the team on the pitch as often as possible, take the next step in my development and return to St. Pauli a better player in summer."
