Kalla appointed Little Rascals brand ambassador

Jan-Philipp "Schnecke" Kalla is to remain with the club despite hanging up his boots. After a playing career spanning 17 years and almost 350 competitive appearances for the Boys in Brown, the 34-year-old will take up a new position as brand ambassador and employee of the FC St. Pauli Little Rascals (Rabauken), the club's marketing arm for children and young people, from September.

His duties will include representing the football school internally and externally, identifying and hosting sponsors, and concept development for the FC St. Pauli Little Rascals. Within the club's marketing department, Kalla will also be responsible for nurturing and building contacts with club partners and acting as a link to the first team.

Thomas Michael, Head of Amateur Sport: "I can't think of a better ambassador than Schnecke, who as a player was an outstanding representative of the club and its values. After 17 years with FC St. Pauli, he already knows everyone associated with the club. The fact that Schnecke has built up an extensive network through his own community engagement will certainly be of benefit to him in his new role."

Jan-Philipp Kalla: "After 17 years it means a lot to me that I'm staying at the club of my heart in a different role and we've jointly come up with a good solution that suits me and my strengths. An exciting and diverse field of activity with lots of new assignments awaits."
