Diamantakos: "I'm looking forward to St. Pauli"

New attacking recruit Dimitrios Diamantakos gives his first interview as a St. Pauli player.

Hello Dima, what made you choose St. Pauli?

The club enjoys a very good reputation and the fans are great. I spoke to a lot of people before the move who all reinforced my decision.

What do you associate with the club?

St. Pauli are very well known in Greece and have lots of fans, especially in Athens. They say the fans are a bit crazy. The fervent atmosphere at the Millerntor is a bit like  Greece. I'm looking forward to St. Pauli. It's nice to have a port in the city, it reminds me of my home town of Piraeus.

Who do you already know at St. Pauli?

I know Markus Kauczinski, of course, because he was my coach at Karlsruhe.

What kind of a player are you?

I'm a quick, robust striker who goes for goal as soon as possible.

What are your personal targets and what can St. Pauli achieve this season?

As a striker you want to score goals, that's clear, but ultimately my own targets aren't that important. I'll do my utmost to be successful with the club and the team. If we get the wins we need in the second half of the season, we might be able to climb a bit higher up the table.

Thanks for talking to us, Dima!
