Head coach Timo Schultz: "It was very intense game. I told my players in the pre-match meeting that there was only one thing I didn't want to see today: a timid team that just goes through the motions. We want to show our intent to score goals and that's what both teams did today, so a 2-2 draw is a fair result. When you lead just before the end, you want to see it over the line, of course. We didn't defend well at that moment. It was one of those five-minute phases when you're too euphoric, and that’s what happens. On the other hand, the equaliser was very well worked. Everyone knows Simon Terodde is a threat in front of goal. We'll take the point. We've gained stability in recent weeks and now we have to work on keeping a clean sheet. We'll take a breather now and then we'll focus on the game against KSC."

Robin Himmelmann: "We took the lead late on but then we conceded the equaliser. We weren't quite as active in the second half as we were in the first and we had to deal with some enormous pressure. We're a bit disappointed because we wanted to win the game, but if you take a point away from home, it's OK. The conditions were strange, of course. We keep our derby title, but we'd have liked to have won."

Sebastian Ohlsson: "When you lead 2-1 just before the end, you're obviously disappointed not to win it. We fought hard and were close to the away win, but a 2-2 draw is a fair result in the end."

Marvin Knoll: "I think we played well, as did HSV. It's such a pity there were no fans today. It would have been a really awesome derby. Two years ago we drew 0-0 here. It was boring. Today, it would have had everyone on their feet. The first half, in particular, was good from us. We had our chances. HSV pressed well in the second half, but we defended well. We had them on the verge of defeat."

Luca Zander: "We had a good plan that came off to a large degree. We didn't sit back and we tried to put them under pressure. With a little more luck, we could have scored another in the first half. Looking at the game as a whole, the result is OK. When you take the lead in the 82nd minute, it's obviously frustrating to concede again. I think it's OK that we got a point, but we definitely want to win at home."

Simon Terodde (HSV): "It was one-way traffic in the second half. And then we conceded. I'm really happy we got the equaliser. We have to be satisfied with that in the end."

HSV coach Daniel Thioune: "It was a decent performance from my team. The early goal could have given us a touch more assurance. It was a very intense game and an evenly balanced first half. We were determined to win the game and put them under pressure. We had a phase in the second half where we threatened and then had one careless moment. We responded really well, though. The legs were very heavy after they scored. It was only right that we didn't end the game empty-handed."
