In another change to the senior squad, centre-back Florian Carstens has left the Boys in Brown to join relegated Wehen Wiesbaden on a yearlong loan deal.
Carstens, 21, signed for the club's youth academy from MTV Treubund Lüneburg in the summer of 2014. He made the transition to the senior squad in the 2018-19 season and has made a total of 22 competitive appearances (1 goal, 1 assist) for the Boys in Brown to date.
Director of sport Andreas Bornemann: "We think a change of scenery will help Flo take the next step in his development, as we can't guarantee him the necessary playing time in the first team. I therefore hope Flo will play a decent role at Wehen Wiesbaden next season."
Florian Carstens: "After six years at FC St. Pauli, next season offers me the opportunity to gain more experience and progress as a footballer at another club. In taking this step I hope to get more high-level match practice and think Wehen Wiesbaden is an excellent place to do this. It's now up to me to stake a claim with good performances in the third division."
