FC ST. PAULI CALL FOR HUMANITY - #TOGETHERFORRESCUE

The situation on the Mediterranean refugee routes is deteriorating day by day. Private rescue organisations have had to cancel almost all their operations. Those rescued are not reaching a safe haven. Many countries are pulling down the shutters. Yet people are still giving up everything and setting off in an attempt to find a sanctuary for themselves and their families. Men, women and children are dying every day, just a short flight away from us.

As an engaged social actor, FC St. Pauli, with all its boards and committees, its employees and its sections, cannot, and will not, look on while people whose survival could be guaranteed with the simplest of means are dying. Many of us have been active in and around the club for years, helping either directly on the refugee routes or here in Hamburg to ensure that people fleeing are able to reach their destination, are looked after and are offered support. Whether it's the many different supporter initiatives, the club institutions or our staff – the motto "No one is illegal" is not simply splashed across the front of the North Stand, it is lived and breathed by many of us.

We fully support the #togetherforrescue campaign and wish to express our solidarity with the sea rescue missions. Therefore, we are appealing for donations for our partners Sea Watch. We are also supporting the demonstration SEEBRÜCKE - Hamburg zum sicheren Hafen! [SEA BRIDGE – Make Hamburg a Safe Haven], which will pass the South Stand half an hour after Sunday's home game against FC Köln, and the Welcome United parade in Hamburg on 29 September.

SEA SEARCH AND RESCUE IS NOT A CRIME! REFUGEES WELCOME!
