Daniel Buballa: "We wanted to make our presence felt up front by pressing them in midfield, which we did very well in the first half. We gave very little away at the back. In the second half we lost our grip on the game. We stopped winning the second balls and the power of Bielefeld down the middle was difficult to defend."

Marvin Knoll: "We defended well today. We gave it all we had, especially in the second half. To concede the goal from a set piece makes it all the more annoying. At the end of the day a draw is a fair result."

Manuel Prietl (DSC Arminia Bielefeld): "It was my first goal in two-and-a-half years. I'm pleased with the point, it was richly deserved. We had more of the game than St. Pauli but we know we have to be more resolute going forward. If we do that, we'll get back to winning ways."

Fabian Klos (DSC Arminia Bielefeld): "We said beforehand it'd be a game where we needed to keep going. We never gave up after going behind and showed our comeback qualities. Hoofing the ball upfield for 90 minutes should never be enough for a point normally. But that's down to us, not St. Pauli."

Referee Bastian Dankert: "My assistant couldn't see clearly whether the ball hit the player's hand or his leg. Then the video assistant referee told me the ball struck his leg first, then his arm. The rule is clear that it isn't a penalty if the ball touches the arm directly from another part of the body. After looking at the replays the decision was clear relatively quickly."
