It was to take more than five years for the Boys in Brown to convert another half-time deficit at the Millerntor into a win. That was against Holstein Kiel last Sunday, and 'Jackson' was in the thick of things once again, finding the net just before the end to secure another 3-2 win. That late strike was just his second senior goal. "I wasn't aware of that but obviously I was delighted to score again after such a long time," said Avevor about his special déjà-vu experience. "Anyone else could have got the winning goal against Kiel and it wouldn't have made any difference to me. I'm happy no matter who scores."

For the 26-year-old defender the win over Kiel was worth its weight in gold as far as confidence is concerned. "It was so important for us to come from behind and win such a difficult game – an unbelievable feeling," said Avevor, for whom getting the basics right will be essential again next time out. "We're up against another tough side in Fortuna Düsseldorf. We won't get anything there if we aren't prepared to run and battle hard and give it all we've got. Fortuna have a formidable attacking force that we need to neutralise as a team. Up front we aim to make the most of our quality and take the chances on offer."
